Assists with procedures to analyze, diagnose and treat the cardiovascular system.

- Prepares patients for procedures. Reviews medical history, positions patients and cleans/shaves/numbs testing sites as appropriate.
- Interprets, describes and reports test results. Recognizes recording errors, artifacts and reacts appropriately.
- Monitors patient prior to, during and after procedures and promptly reports any abnormal findings in patient's condition.
- Prepares and maintains equipment, supplies and lab area. Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly department.
- Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel and lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
- May prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
Required Credential(s):
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- One or more of the following:
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 18 Months (1 1/2 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 18 Months (1 1/2 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Paramedic credentialed from the Michigan Emergency Medical Services obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Cardiac-Intrvn Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Exercise Physiologist credentialed from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Preferred Credential(s):
- ?Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
