JOB TITLE: Substitute Speech and Language Pathologist
DEPARTMENT: Calvary Christian Academy
REPORTS TO: Principal and ESE Director
STATUS: Temporary; Hourly non-exempt
HOURS: As needed, on-call
LOCATION: Calvary Christian Academy, all campuses

Purpose Statement:
The CCA substitute Speech and Language Pathologist plays a vital role in furthering the
mission of Calvary Christian Academy and will work in the capacity for which they are
hired. As a substitute, the individual will teach, train, lead, guide, and follow the lesson
plans to properly instruct the students in their care. As a substitute, the individual must
take ownership of the assigned role so that students are always well supervised and
taught per the provided plans.
Scope:
The position is multifaceted in that the individual takes on the tasks of another staff
member who is absent. As a substitute, this person is in constant contact with children,
school staff, parents, and church staff.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Model Christ in word and deed while:
- Adhere to professional standards and dress code
- Providing therapy to Students with provided lesson plans
- Following CCA Staff regulations, guidelines, procedures
- Providing a safe environment for kids
Qualifications/Skills/Gifts:
- A love to teach as unto the Lord and lead/live by the Word
- Willing to live a life above reproach and that is aligned with our Leadership Covenant
- Excellent interpersonal skills with regards to colleagues, substitutes and students
- Love for children and a desire to see that they have a right relationship with Jesus Christ
- Organized and flexible with people, schedules, and good at following schedules
- Patience of job, with a calm spirit
- Love to serve the Lord in all areas of life
- Be able to lift 40 lbs
- Able to bend, and be flexible around kids
- Master's in Speech Pathology
- Florida License in Speech Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing
- Association (which is a national certification)
- Ability to lead and communicate with children
- Ability to multi-task and become easily oriented
- The ability to be “with it” and monitor groups of children with a positive disciplinary approach
- Ability to be flexible and open to coming at the last minute and filling the gap where needs are evident
