Finish Rolling Mill Operator
Position Summary:
In this role you will set up and operate precision 2-high, 4-high rolling mills to roll a variety of intermediate, thin gauge metal stock to uniform/precise thickness specifications according to work order requirements. Essential Job Duties:
· Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle.
· Operate and monitor production equipment to ensure the equipment is working properly and adjust as needed.
· Feed raw material and inspect parts with precision and measuring tools such as various hand tools, finish slitter machines, micrometers, calculators, and related tools.
· Change rolls in mill as required and perform any associated preventative maintenance.
· Must follow established company and department rules and regulations and maintain quality standards.
· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust to priority changes and short notice activity.
· Support a safety culture by following all safety rules including reporting all incidents and near misses.
Minimum Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Previous experience in rolling or machine operation preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
· Excellent mechanical and logical thinking, able to do simple maintenance and repairs.
· Attention to detail, ability to follow written instructions.
· Must be able to read, write and speak English.
· Must follow all safety rules.
· Must be able to pass a background check.
Physical Requirements/Safety:
· Ability to stand and move throughout 8-10 hours shifts.
· Frequent lifting between 10 lbs. and 50 lbs.
· Moderate to loud noise level.
· Follow all PPE requirements.
