Summary
Willamette Valley Vineyards, a leading producer of world-class wines, is seeking an energetic, team player, and customer-focused individual to join our facilities team as a Seasonal Facilities Assistant.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform grounds keeping and building maintenance duties, and assist with company projects.
- Mow grass, plow snow, water lawns, feed and trim shrubs, tend flower beds.
- Rake, mulch, and prune grounds as necessary, plant and maintain exterior landscaping.
- Operate lawn and grounds equipment including mowers and other power equipment.
- Remove refuse and trash from grounds.
- Adjusts, cleans, and perform minor mechanical work on grounds equipment.
- Sweep (or use blower) to remove debris from walkways, driveways, and parking lot, and cut down tree limbs that pose a danger.
- Apply deicer to walkways to minimize slipping danger during snow days.
- Remove recyclable materials from public areas and transports it to the designated location.
- Maintain work area in a neat and clean manner.
- Recommend and assist in implementing sustainability and practices that improve the company’s positive impact on the environment, and supports Company’s effort to create a more sustainable, cross-cultural and “green” environment.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
Minimum Requirements
- Must have a valid/current Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
- Tractor driving skills needed for this position.
- Must have working knowledge of general landscaping practices and light building maintenance work.
- Must be able to operate light power equipment and be able to follow all company, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Ability to function in a team environment.
- Must be available to work peak tourism and traffic times including holidays, weekends, and evenings for events.
- Possess great customer service attitude with an excellent eye for details.
- Ability to read basic instructions in English.
Working Conditions
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk staircases and hilly/uneven terrain in all weather conditions.
