Reporting to the Finance Director, you’ll be responsible for property-level accounting, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. Major Accountabilities
General Ledger and Financial Transactions
- Prepare and/or review appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for all entities.
- Perform account analysis and reconcile sub-ledger to general ledger balances.
Reconciliation and Financial Reporting
- Perform and review weekly and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash reporting.
- Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Review and post commercial rent roll entries to maintain accurate rent revenue tracking.
- Prepare lease and tenant reimbursement accounting, including reconciliation of estimated and actual CAM, utilities, etc.
Payment Processing and Cash Monitoring
- Review and approve check payments and daily ACH transactions; manage positive pay uploads and review exceptions.
- Monitor and maintain internal controls over disbursements and cash activity.
Internal Customer Service for ERP System
- Serve as a go-to resource for internal teams on ERP-related needs, including approval workflows, user administration, permission settings, and property setup.
- Troubleshoot day-to-day system issues and assist with process improvements to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
Other General Duties and Expectations
- Attain working knowledge of operating platforms and lease terms for commercial (office/warehouse), multifamily, flexible workplace and self-storage properties and facilitate integration of accounting activities with operations.
- Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting process.
- Support regulatory compliance and reporting, including accurate data collection and timely submission of sales tax filings and annual 1099s, while ensuring proper recording and reconciliation of mortgage-related financial transactions.
- Manage the end-to-end transactional workflow of the internal corporate credit card platform, including receipt collection, expense coding, and reconciliation.
- Coordination of the annual budget process across all property entities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with corporate financial goals. Assist with general accounting tasks, posting journal entries to the general ledger, preparing account reconciliations and/or supporting schedules to the financials, as needed.
- Communicate regularly within the Finance and Accounting team and throughout the company where necessary regarding due dates and workflow impacts. Document and track processes and escalate where necessary and appropriate to assure timeliness.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting and budget variance analysis for all entities.
- Represent the Company positively and professionally in interactions with tenants, vendors, and the community at large.
- Provide support to all levels of the Finance and Accounting team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures with ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to internal customers.
- Knowledge of property accounting operations and experience using financial software/systems required.
- Strong interpersonal, written communication and conflict resolution skills with a professional, respectful, and positive presentation style.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly. Uses task/workflow management to track open items and due dates.
- Collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace, bilingual skills a plus. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, including but not limited to Company policies and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Understand and respond to a diverse population.
- Ability to calculate intermediate figures and amounts such as totals, averages, percentages, fractions, discounts, etc., using calculators; ability to use intermediate Excel functions and work with spreadsheets that have complex formulas.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Minimum 2-4 years related experience and/or training including accounting and financial experience.
- Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in applicable field.
- Experience in property management accounting and intercompany transactions preferred.
- Experience with Yardi Voyager/Elevate or other enterprise property accounting software preferred
- Basic knowledge of real estate financial terms, principles, lease documents and contracts.
- Ability to work with sensitive files and maintain confidentiality; must pass criminal background check.
- Computer literate, proficient with common business software/applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel), and ability to adapt to new technology and mentor team members in doing so.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and achieve departmental deadlines.
