Summary:
Reporting to the NWSCC Facilities Supervisor, the Facilities Maintenance Technician (FMT) / Trainer is responsible for providing technical support and training on Facilities systems.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist in the maintenance of NWS systems, including but not limited to, power generation, electrical distribution, HVAC Systems, water & sewage systems, and fire alarm/suppression systems.
- Provides technical support to LRR Facilities Maintenance Technicians, NWSCC Crew Technicians, and LCMM/Engineers
- Develop course training standards according to SOW requirements and updates in equipment/systems
- Determine course content according to objectives
- Prepare training material (presentations, worksheets, etc.)
- Execute training sessions, webinars, workshops, etc. in groups or individually
- Analyzes equipment failures to determine the cause and recommends corrective action
Who You Are:
Education:
Completion of a postsecondary program in an electromechanical systems or CF military equivalent.
Experience:
A minimum of five years of experience on the job training working in a commercial or industrial setting. Previous experience developing and conducting technical training would be an asset.
Knowledge of:
- Strong knowledge of building electrical, mechanical, HVAC and building structural systems, with ability to read and interpret related drawings and manuals.
- Proficiency in the use of commercial test equipment and tools used in troubleshooting and repair of Facilities systems.
