The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for establishing contact with prospective and existing customers, identifying new opportunities, and following up on potential leads—all while providing excellent customer service. This role focuses specifically on the promotion and sale of residential roofing products. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently, is willing to travel, and possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilize telephone calls, emails, in-person visits, and presentations to establish relationships with prospective customers
- Promote and sell residential roofing products by providing product expertise and solutions tailored to customer needs
- Meet or exceed established sales goals for assigned territory and quota
- Attend industry trade shows to generate new leads and strengthen relationships with existing clients
- Monitor industry trends to identify emerging opportunities and develop strategies to grow revenue
- Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with customers and prospects by providing product support, technical application guidance, and up-to-date information on residential roofing materials
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activity, leads, and customer interactions in CRM or designated system
- Represent the company in a professional manner, demonstrating knowledge of products, industry trends, and customer needs
- Provide management with timely updates and reports on market activity, customer feedback, and product performance
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience
- At least 1 year of outside sales experience
- Must be willing to travel up to 50 percent of the time
- Strong computer skills and understanding of spreadsheet software
- Self-motivated and comfortable working with little to no direction
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
