Located in Brooklyn, Ohio, MPC Plating was founded as a metal plating operation. Branching out into plastic plating in 1985, MPC now plates exclusively on plastics. We have two (2) openings for full-time Plating Technician(s) on 3rd shift: The schedule will vary depending on production, overtime is required. Currently scheduled at Monday 3:00AM to 7:00AM, & 11:00PM to 7:00AM, Tuesday 11:00PM to 7:00AM, Wednesday 11:00PM to 7:00AM, Thursday 11:00PM to 11:00AM.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Plating Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality of all parts produced by the automatic plating line by properly analyzing chemicals and monitoring the plating process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Knowledge of tank and weirs with level, formulation, air agitation, filtrations, and chemical maintenance procedures
- Responsible for chemical addition, plating tanks, temperature checks, and solution pH checks
- Assist other plating technicians when it is required
- Monitoring, cleaning, and changing all filtrations and the regeneration system, according to the chemical maintenance schedule
- Monitor all of the recovery systems, change and clean if required
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Maintain a safe and clean area around the chemical storage area, filtration, regeneration, and recovery equipment
- Maintaining safe work practices and procedures in the plating area; using proper safety equipment correctly
- Maintaining daily checklist
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to work periodic overtime, at times on short notice
- Ability to write and read reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Must observe and practice all safety regulations, up to and including wearing of the required personal protective equipment, when necessary
- Able to stand on your feet for 8 hours, able to lift 50 pounds to the chest
- Must have excellent attendance records
- Must be able to work well with other associates
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of hazardous material handling, solution maintenance, basic chemistry, basic plating on plastic training, troubleshooting, and problem-solving
- Prior plating on plastics or metals experience is preferred but not required
