Who we want:
The Events and Engagement Manager leads events and engagement opportunities for donors, volunteers, and community partners in the Central Texas region, including Travis and Williamson counties, guiding our community to give, advocate and volunteer with United Way. In this role, you will develop and execute engagement and event programming across donor networks, workplace campaigns, volunteer activities, and major events to effectively facilitate, cultivate, steward, and execute fundraising efforts. In partnership with the Sr. Director of Community Philanthropy and Engagement, you will be integral in driving ambitious revenue goals to engage and empower members of the board, resource development committee, and volunteer leaders in resource development, marketing, and communication efforts.

What you'll do:
- Manage and develop a robust program of year-round community engagement opportunities based on fundraising initiatives, including planning and logistical execution of major campaign and fundraising events, community volunteer events, and donor network events, driving deeper connection and increased philanthropic investment.
- Manage and raise revenue for United Way's key fundraising events, including A Night United, Gathering for Good, and State of Greater Austin.
- Support outreach and marketing activities to drive event attendance, revenue and donor touchpoints.
- Identify, develop, and execute fundraising efforts including but not limited to sponsorships, table and ticket sales, in-kind partnerships, and live, silent, and special appeal auctions to meet revenue goals for special events and other assigned projects.
- Lead internal and external volunteer outreach and engagement for landmark events. Share out key details and responsibilities.
- In partnership with the Operations and Finance team, ensure proper documentation and data entry for all event-related gifts in Salesforce and event fundraising platform. Align strategy internally with language, processes and provide support as needed.
- Lead logistics around attendance based on known relationships and giving opportunities around signature and select events, and follow up stewardship as needed.
- Provide leadership for and as a key liaison between board/committees, internal departments, and external vendors to execute events and projects.
- Ensure excellent and dynamic donor stewardship across assigned projects, including benefit fulfillment, recognition, and acknowledgment in partnership with the Marketing & Communications and Operations team.
- Develop communications plans and tools for donor engagement and stewardship associated with assigned projects, including messaging and collateral, in partnership with the Marketing and Communications team.
- Work collaboratively across teams to grow revenue and increase engagement.
- Track goals, measure progress, and assess when strategies or tactics are productive, which need to be adjusted or reimagined to achieve short- and long-term success.
- Support budgets associated with assigned projects and maintain income and expense goals.
- Events-related vendor management, including solicitation, relations, and contract coordination.
- Provide data, guidance, and tools to board members, resource development committee members, donor network committee members, and event chairs to help them become more involved and have a greater impact as volunteer leaders.
- Support and coordinate key touchpoints for committee meetings, including sending invitations and recording RSVPs, arranging catering, facilitating meeting presentation materials, and transcribing meeting minutes.
- Partner with Community Engagement and Corporate team to execute meaningful engagement opportunities with community partners, yielding revenue and/or in-kind contributions.
- Develop and/or execute new revenue opportunities in partnership with the Resource Development & Marketing and Communications team.

- Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent of education and experience
- 3+ years of experience in nonprofit work, fundraising, and development or equivalent experience in project management.
- 2+ years of experience in Event Management (preferred)
