POSITION TITLE: CNA Transportation Aide

The Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act requires employers in the state of Colorado to disclose the following information. Hourly (salary) minimum $17.50, hourly (salary) maximum $23.00. The base hourly (salary) range above represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual hourly (salary) rates may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to: experience, education, and training.
Pay is just one component to prospective employees’ compensation package. Compensation also includes a 10% PRN differential and may include shift differentials. In addition, Grand River Hospital District offers benefits including employee assistant programs and paid sick time.
JOB PURPOSE: To improve the health and wellbeing of our communities.
BASIC FUNCTION: The Transportation Aide transports the Care Center residents within the facility or on supervised outings. Transports residents to and from the Care Center and designated locations for clinical appointments, outings, etc. The Transportation Aide will conduct transportation in a manner that ensures a positive experience for residents while operating a vehicle owned by Grand River Hospital District (GRHD). Loads and unloads equipment and passengers between various destinations as assigned. Prepares, receives and manages appropriate documentation for the delivery and pickup of individuals to ensure timely and accurate transportation. Duties also include scheduling responsibilities. The Transportation Aide will coordinate clinical appointments for residents to ensure efficiency within the transportation schedule. Maintains professional appearance and behavior as a visible representative of Grand River Health and the Care Center. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines and procedures to perform the functions of the job. Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must possess active Colorado Driver’s License and clean MVR. Must have current BLS card upon hire and maintain current status throughout GRHD employment. Active CNA license in the State of Colorado Required.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in health care patient transportation preferred. Experience in a long term care setting preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required in order to coordinate appointments and scheduling with clinical staff and residents’ family members. Ability to develop and maintain functional working relationships with staff members and departments involved in the resident transportation schedule. Must be proficient within six (6) months of hire in HealthStream, Meditech, Kronos, and American Health Tech.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must be constantly alert for resident safety.
WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. Interacts with residents, family members, staff, etc., while performing the functions of the position. This position performs tasks that involve Category I exposure to blood borne pathogens, body fluids or tissues. Exposure to patients’ conditions and some unpleasant sights, smells and diseases are common. Frequent exposure to chemical hazards; may encounter radiation hazards. Working conditions are normal for a long term care environment.
