JOB SUMMARY: Under medical direction, Respiratory Care Prac-RRT provides treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation, and care to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities with the cardio-pulmonary system.
Responsibilities Include:
- Performs all duties of the Respiratory Therapist, using excellent customer service and assuring patient safety at all times
- Performs initial and ongoing assessments of the patient’s past medical history, smoking, level of activity, home O2 use and respiratory medications
- Be proficient in using all equipment/procedures used at this institution. Including but not limited to ventilators, Bipap/Cpap, High Flow Nasal Cannula, A-line Insertion, ABGs, Intubation, Trach Care, Medication Management, Oxygen delivery, and any new equipment/procedures used in Respiratory Care.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge in a specialized field.
- Education: Associate's degree in Respiratory Care.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience.
- Licensure: Maryland Respiratory Care Practitioner license, Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care
- Certification: American Heart Association CPR Certification, BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications. Knowledge of ventilators, CPAP/BiPap, oxygen delivery systems and HFNC.
