Join our friendly team at the Shawnee Branch of the Allen County Public Library, where we pride ourselves on creating a welcoming space for our community. As a Branch Assistant, you’ll be the go-to person for excellent customer service and day-to-day library support. A typical day includes helping patrons sign up for library cards, checking materials in and out, answering questions, and offering computer and technology assistance. You’ll be part of a collaborative, customer-focused environment where every interaction makes a difference in connecting people with the resources they need.
This job will remain open until filled
The position is 24 hours per week. The desired schedule will be as follows:
Monday (12-9pm)
Alternating Fridays/Saturdays (9-6)
Additional day to be determined
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of customer service OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

- Starting pay is $13.77 per hour and up based on related and comparable work experience

Physical Demands
- Mobility to work in an office setting, use standard office equipment and stamina to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time; strength to lift and carry up to 20 pounds and push carts that may weigh up to 100 pounds; agility to bend, reach and climb; vision to read printed materials and computer screens; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
