Overview
- The project scheduler is responsible for developing, monitoring and updating project schedules to ensure timely completion of the project activities. This role requires close collaboration with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure all phases of the project are aligned with the overall timeline and budget. This role also be responsible for analyzing project data, preparing progress reports, and presenting schedule updates to management.
- The role is reporting directly to the Project Controls Manager.
- The role will be based at project site in Gresik, East Java, Indonesia.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare the project work breakdown structure (WBS).
- Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6
- Prepare and update integrated project schedule (level 3, 4) by coordinating and gathering the input from project stakeholders.
- Provide guideline on project planning & scheduling to consultants / contractors to meet Company / Project requirements.
- Project performance monitoring, schedule and project risk analysis.
- Preparation of weekly, monthly, ad-hoc reports.
- Increases project team members’ awareness of the project milestones, main durations and critical paths.
- Ensure compliance with contractual scheduling requirements.
- Elevate and expedite operations that are delaying the schedule and analyze changes to the schedule to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Create and Monitor schedule compliance, key performance, factors, and provide analysis of variations to baseline data .
- Identify factors, both current and potential, that may delay the schedule.
- Assess actions for recovery and improvement and analyze changes to the schedule to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Provides project feedback and lessons learned to improve the planning & scheduling methods and provide input to the statistics of Project Control Department.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in project management or related engineering discipline
- Having 8 - 10 years of experience in the field of project scheduling, planning, monitoring, controlling, report preparation, etc. for major chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas projects.
- Extensive planning and scheduling experience in all phases of project such as Concept Selection, Define, Execution i.e. engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup and handover.
- Excellent skills in using project management tools i.e. P6 EPPM, and other office management software.
- Hands on experience in project planning & scheduling, estimating, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, progress, performance and project reporting, etc.
- Well conversant with engineering deliverables, responsibility matrix, project controls and management principle, CPM, EVM, risk analysis, etc.
- Good knowledge with international codes and standards such as ASTM, ASME, DIN, JIS, etc.
- Well conversant with P&ID’s, layouts, general arrangement, equipment drawings, diagrams, isometrics, MTO, etc.
- Good Communication and Leadership skills.
- Attention to detail and organization skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to evaluate project progress and facilitate interventions.
- Ability to keep stakeholders informed of project timelines and changes.
- Strong working ethics and ability to treat documents with confidentiality
- Clear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences.
