Koala Health is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst to join our finance team, reporting directly to the CFO. In this role, you’ll oversee financial analysis and reporting, support monthly financial close activities, assist with annual budgeting and forecasting, and contribute to our overall controllership. You’ll act as a business partner to operational teams, aligning financial insights with strategic priorities and providing recommendations to senior leadership on cost structure and business performance.
What You'll Do:
- Serve as a business partner to various operational teams, delivering financial insights to support strategic priorities and decision-making.
- Support the monthly financial close process in collaboration with accounting and other cross-functional teams.
- Support the preparation, analysis, and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, and participate in key meetings (i.e. MBRs, QBRs).
- Support quarterly, annual, and multi-year budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Support key operational meetings (i.e. weekly metrics)
- Analyze financial variances and proactively communicate key business drivers to senior management.
- Provide deep-dive analytical support to operational and project teams on business performance, cost structure improvements, and new initiatives.
- Develop advanced reports using tools like Looker, ERP systems to drive business improvement and efficiency.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, automation, and standardization across finance and business systems.
- Ensure compliance with established controls and support the development of scalable processes suitable for rapid growth.
- Produce ad hoc business analyses and present actionable recommendations to the CFO and executive team.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related analytical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in financial analysis, business partnering, or financial planning & analysis (FP&A).
- Experience in budget, forecasting, and reporting cycles.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for both finance and non-finance leaders.
- Proven record of driving process improvements and building automation within finance or business operations.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, or similar).Proficiency in Looker or comparable business intelligence platforms.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to influence and partner across functions.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workloads, and work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change, and demonstrated ability to self-motivate.
Preferred Skills
- Advanced degree (MBA or MS in a quantitative field) is a plus.
- Experience with SQL or similar data query tools.
- Prior exposure to process automation, or advanced reporting tools.
- Experience in a high-growth, tech-enabled environment or in the healthcare, e-commerce, or pet health sectors.
