Job Summary:
The RN shall begin the implementation of the nursing process as delegated by the Physician/ FNP but not limited to patient care documentation, direct observation and patient process evaluations. Performs under the direct supervision of the Clinic Manager and is delegated to achieve quality patient care and job performance. Has knowledge of the insurance process, as well as the policies and procedures of Forrest General Hospital. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with employees and family members of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs. Assists with clinical operations to include education and clerical responsibilities. The RN will be cross-trained in other areas of the clinic to assure we can meet the needs of our patients.
Performance Expectations:
- Performance expectations will be covered in the orientation and precepted phases of orientation to your job.
- Demonstrate aptitude with equipment including, but not limited to, Multi-line phone system, Windows based computers, Epic software, Healthstream, printers, fax, copier, CoaguChek, manual/digital blood pressure monitor, EKG, recognize EKG rhythms.
- Demonstrate aptitude with proper telephone etiquette and communications skills. Must be able to enter complete detailed messages into Epic and direct messages to the appropriate employee/Provider. Identify messages which need prompt attention versus those messages that can be entered into Epic for a return phone call. Assist providers with direct patient care, patient education, phone calls to patients, and placing orders as per verbal orders by physician. Manage patient Coumadin levels per protocols established by providers.
- Pacemaker RN: Proficiency with pacemaker devices to perform pacemaker evaluations, recording data into Epic.
- Stress RN: Proficiency with recognizing EKG rhythms, monitoring patients during stress testing, recording data.
- Demonstrate aptitude with efficiency and teamwork. When your tasks are complete, assist coworkers or ask manager for additional tasks. Demonstrate aptitude and desire to cross train for other positions within the clinic. Cross trained employees enables our department to provide quality, efficient, effective care to our patients.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
Graduate of a recognized non-online accredited RN Program required.
Work Experience:
Experience in a primary care, urgent care, or specialty clinic preferred.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
- Licensed RN able to practice within the State of MS
Additional Certification/Licensure - Obtained based on required timeframe below

Mental Demands:
Must enjoy people and desire to assist doctors/nurse practitioners, patients, fellow employees and
staff. Must exercise a high degree of tact, poise and patience. Necessary to understand medical
terminology and apply as it relates to the admission and documentation of the patient’s medical
visit. Clerical ability is required to avoid errors when completing medical documents.
