POSITION SUMMARY
The Mental Health Professional will work as part of a multidisciplinary team with all other disciplines in the Behavioral Health Unit to provide a proactive and collaborative approach in serving the patient population in a correctional environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must be a Licensed, Master’s Level Mental Health Clinician who can administer assessments, make clinical decisions, provide Mental Health treatment, and hold the following licensed or license eligible: CMHC, LCPC, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, ACMHC, ALMFT, CSW or equivalent. The Mental Health Professional co-leads group therapy, one-on-one therapy, suicide prevention, and crisis intervention.
MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- MHPs will provide crisis stabilization, complete intakes and on-going evaluations, and provide consultation to in-house and community services.
- MHPs will provide weekend coverage that includes conducting rounds on restrictive housing and suicide watch cells.
- MHPs will participate in monthly behavioral health calls and work collaboratively with the medical team to determine the best overall treatment for each individual.
- MHPs will perform risk assessment of inmates, coordination of care with interdisciplinary team including medical staff, community providers, psychiatric hospitals and corrections, and discharge planning.
- MHPs will assist in planning and implementing the goals and objectives of programs and projects.
- MHPs will help with reception and diagnostics unit assessment processes virtually.

- Degree from a Master's level program in a behavioral health-related field
- Licensed or license eligible
- Minimum of one year employment at a public or private agency or equivalent
- Must receive a satisfactory background investigation report
