The Laboratory Associate is a multifaceted role with responsibilities across both R&D and Manufacturing. This position has primary responsibility for the production of catalog, bulk and custom products used internally as well as those sold directly to customers. The Laboratory Associate is also responsible for technical applications, continuous improvement, and cross training to other functions in the manufacturing department.
What You Will Do
- Develop proficiency in production techniques including, centrifugation, filtration, adsorption, purification, centrifugation, electrophoresis, titering, PBMC Isolation.
- Become familiar with all laboratory SOP’s.
- Process raw and custom animal derived materials.
- Execute antibody production projects to generate catalog and specialty bulk/custom bulk materials as assigned.
- Accurately and completely document all required data related to production records.
- Effectively operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment.
- Crosstrain with other functions within the department to maintain business continuity.
- Perform critical regular laboratory maintenance duties that include but are not limited to dish washing, cleaning lab benches, clearing common-use lab space of unneeded materials, changing dialysis buffers, and reagent preparation.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management, which may not be listed above, that are necessary to accomplish our goal of improving lives by supporting scientific discovery.
Who You Are & What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in Scientific field preferred.
- 3 years’ work experience in a scientific environment preferred.
- Basic familiarity with lab equipment including centrifuge, pH meter, spectrophotometer, etc.
- Able to use independent thinking and judgment to perform tasks as needed without frequent supervision.
