As the person to whom patients trust with therapeutic recommendations and oversight of medications, our optimal candidates will be willing to work collaboratively with patients and our clinic providers, clinic staff and nursing homes to exceed expectations for pharmacy care. Our goal is to provide not only a pharmacy experience for our patients, but a work environment that far exceeds what is expected in a Retail Pharmacy setting. The candidates should enjoy engaging customers and patients, at the pharmacy and in the clinics, by greeting them, and describing the benefits of using the pharmacy. In addition, the candidates should work to resolves customer issues and concerns in a timely manner and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- 1+ year relevant experience as a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Intern preferred
- Bachelor's Degree (Pharmacy) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
- IL State Pharmacist License required without restrictions, or willing to transfer licensure if relocating from out-of-state
- APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certification preferred, or willing to become certified as soon as possible
- APhA Delivering Medication Therapy Management Services Certification preferred
- Sterile and Non-Sterile Compounding Experience a plus
- Long-Term Care Pharmacy experience a plus
- Independent Retail Pharmacy experience a plus
- IL State-approved Certification to prescribe Hormonal Contraceptives a plus
- IL State-approved Certification to administer Long-Acting Antipsychotic Injections a plus
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
- Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred/required, with ability to learn new software systems, as needed

ABILITIES, INTERESTS AND TEMPERAMENTS:
- Accurately prepare medications for final dispensing to the patient, including filling, order entry, and packaging
- Review completed orders to ensure prescriptions were filled correctly
- Verify the legality and pharmaceutical feasibility of dispensing a drug based on patients' allergies, Incompatibilities with current medications, frequency of refills, etc.
- Interpret prescription orders, to include exercising professional judgment in determining whether to dispense a particular prescription, taking into account patient safety and legal limitations.
- Adhere to all Federal and State Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Adhere to all applicable guidelines for compounding
- Transfer prescriptions to and from other pharmacies as needed
- Provide counseling to patients at prescription pickup, as required by IL statute
- Answer questions from patients, doctors, nurses, etc.
- Evaluate inventory levels and place orders when below par, as well as maintaining all applicable federal and state inventory record-keeping requirements
- On exception items, look up most cost-effective product to order
- Notify customer/facility if product is out of stock and when the order can be filled
- Restock station supplies as needed - vials, cassettes, labels, delivery tickets, etc.
- Oversee the work of all technicians and give feedback to their supervisor regarding their performance
- Log all medication error occurrences
- Other essential functions and duties may be assigned as needed
- Flexible schedule availability, including rotating weekends, rotating nights, and rotating holidays
