Role Overview
We're looking for a true builder. Not just a salesperson—but a closer, strategist, and future sales leader who's ready to help design the sales engine while it's barreling down the highway. You'll start as an individual contributor (with mentoring and training support from the CEO at Mostly Serious) and grow into a director-level role over time.
At first, you'll be the sole dedicated salesperson. You'll take the reins on outbound strategy, shape the sales process and CRM workflows, and generate revenue by selling impactful, high-value services that include:
- AI training & consulting
- Web design & development
- Branding & research
- Ongoing website support & health checks
- SEO & digital strategy
- Strategic planning engagements
This is a career-launching opportunity for a sales pro who wants to make a mark, grow into a leadership position, and have a real hand in shaping how a company scales its sales operations.
Initial Responsibilities
- Close your first deal within the first 90 days—we'll give you runway and support to do it
- Build and execute a clear outbound strategy, including messaging, targeting, and cadence
- Help us mature our CRM usage, rethink tools if needed, and streamline our sales workflows
- Collaborate with our creative, consulting, and engineering teams to scope and pitch solutions that deliver results
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Located near Springfield, MO – We support hybrid work, but value face-to-face collaboration when needed
- A natural closer with a positive outlook, resourcefulness, and a persistent, gritty mindset
- Sales-first—background in tech, consulting, or agencies is a plus but not required
- Has experience selling fixed-scope projects and custom solutions
- Excited to build from scratch, not just optimize what's already there
Short-Term Success Metrics
- Close early-stage deals within 3 months
- Launch and lead an effective outreach program (email, calls, content-driven engagement, etc.)
- Add $600K+ in new revenue within your first year
- Shape a repeatable and scalable sales process with support from leadership
Long-Term Growth Path
This role starts as a player-coach—mostly player for now—but we want someone who's hungry to step into a sales director role within 12–24 months. You'll have the chance to help us:
- Hire and mentor junior AEs or BDRs
- Build out a sales playbook
- Set revenue goals and lead the charge
