GENERAL SUMMARY
- Responsible and accountable for the oversight and implementation of the Care Management program including but not limited to: Inpatient and Ambulatory, Utilization Review, Appeals and Denials, and CDI teams, and other areas as assigned. Works with Medical Staff, Department Directors, and Administration to provide support and analysis to achieve hospital goals and strategic plans.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
- Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Registered Nurse. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
- Demonstrates skills in leadership, motivation, and human relation skills.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
- Current knowledge of Case Management/Utilization Management/Discharge Planning processes.
- Analytical skills, statistical data knowledge, and PC skills (including word processing, database, and spreadsheet knowledge).
- Required Length and Type of Experience
- Minimum of five years experience in utilization management, case management, discharge planning, or other cost/quality management program.
- Three to five years in hospital-based nursing.
- Previous management experience required, preferably in the current field of Case Management.
- Required Licensure or Certification
- RN Licensure, certification in CPHQ, or Case Management preferred.
- Required Physical and Environmental Demands
- Requires the ability to sit and be stationary for prolonged periods of time, normal or corrected vision, and manual dexterity sufficient to perform work on a personal computer.
- Requires the ability to walk to various locations throughout the hospital and function in a stressful environment.
