Position Summary:
Reporting to a Director of Operations, this position is responsible for the daily leadership & management of the assigned unit and program areas. While maintaining a resident-centered service delivery model, this position is responsible for working collaboratively with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure positive program outcomes are achieved. This position is responsible for ensuring the programs are compliant to and meets all the appropriate provincial standards and all Carewest policies. The position is accountable to providing effective and efficient clinical operations within a defined budget, providing management oversight and direction as well as coaching and mentorship to program staff. In keeping with Carewest’s Frame of Reference, the position is accountable to providing safe, quality care through process improvements and ensures that program principles and standards are in alignment with operational priorities. The position is responsible for other related duties as required.
Enhanced Rehabilitation and Community Transition Program (ERCTP) is a 34 bed unit - a short-stay restorative care program that supports medically stable adults who do not need an acute-care level of service, but may require additional assessment, recuperation, and therapy before returning to the community.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Undergraduate Degree in Nursing, Allied Health or a related discipline;
- Graduate degree or post-degree certifications preferred.
- Current registration by a regulatory body (for health care disciplines).
- Current Basic Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
- Minimum 3 years relevant clinical experience required, 5 years or greater preferred
- Demonstrated leadership and decision making skills
- Excellent communication, team building, conflict resolution, organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated quality and process improvement skills
- Ability to develop and maintain professional and cohesive working relationships with stakeholders
- Demonstrated financial knowledge and abilities (budgeting, reporting, variances)
- Change management experience considered an asset
