The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient operations while carrying out
supervisory responsibilities in line with company policies and applicable laws. This role involves
estimating and proposing maintenance scopes, managing fleet equipment, and executing
leadership aligned with the company's strategic goals.
Previous Experience Requirements
- Applicants interested in this position need to have experience supervising railroad construction projects which require compliance with 49 CFR Part 213 Track Safety Standards as well as current or previously qualified on 49 CFR Part 214 Roadway Workplace Safety Standards. A documented history of previous experience highlighting experience in these areas is required for consideration for position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety:
- Ensure on-track protection is provided at all times when performing work foul of the track under 49 CFR Part 214.
- Ensure compliance with the railroad and/or facilities operating rules.
- Ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team; any accidents or incidents are unacceptable.
- Make safety a priority in every decision, performing Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) before tasks.
- Enforce the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) according to company guidelines and customer requirements.
- Report all incidents immediately to your supervisor and HSE manager, creating incident reports as necessary.
- Empower all employees to exercise stop-work authority for unsafe actions.
- Deliver high-quality work that meets customer expectations and adheres to Federal
- Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations.
- Clearly communicate project scopes to ensure team understanding and execution.
- Conduct final inspections to guarantee overall project quality.
- Financial Management:
- Protect the company’s financial interests by executing projects cost-effectively.
- Scrutinize costs and obtain multiple quotes when procuring materials and services.
- Communicate any budgetary concerns as soon as they arise and seek approval for any additional work.
- Review daily logs to ensure accuracy in time, equipment usage, and project progress.
- Planning and Communication:
- Develop comprehensive project plans and communicate them effectively to all involved parties.
- Coordinate equipment rentals, materials, and manpower well in advance of project commencement.
- Conduct planning meetings and ensure all project documentation is prepared before the project begins.
- Facilitate communication among team members and maintain accurate records of inspections and logs.

- Travel is required for this position, with field superintendents traveling approximately 70-80% of the time. Some jobs will last from a few weeks to several months, and home travel costs are covered by the company every 4 to 5 weeks.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role within the railroad maintenance industry.
- Must be well versed in railroad track repairs, construction, and maintenance.
- Must be familiar with mini excavator operation and small hydraulic tools
- Knowledgeable in Class 2 track through excepted tracks.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage conflicts effectively.
- Understanding of FRA regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on budgeting and resource allocation.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

- Calvert City, KY - 80k – 110k
- Phoenix, AZ- 90k -110k
Requirements:
