POSITION SUMMARY:
The EVS Assistant - OR performs a wide variety of tasks related to the preparation and maintenance of the surgical and endoscopic suites as it relates to environmental cleaning. Performs routine “turn over” cleaning and preparation between cases as well as terminal cleaning and routine environmental maintenance of OR suites, pre-op/holding, PACU and endoscopy rooms. Other duties include stocking of supplies and equipment.
The primary patients provided for in the Surgical Services Department are adults and geriatric patients. Pediatric patients are occasionally admitted. For this position: duties, tasks and responsibilities are consistent regardless of the age of patient. No direct patient care is performed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Two years’ experience in surgery or environmental services preferred.
- Previous experience in the surgery environment preferred.
Other Skills:
- Ability to work effectively in stressful situations.
- Must be in good physical condition to meet the demands of the position.
- Basic Computer Skills.
- Speak, read and write English to effectively perform job duties.
