In partnership with nursing leadership facilitates the integration of all daily functions of the departments to ensure optimal patient access and patient, staff and provider satisfaction. Encourages standardization of processes and procedures.
Leadership: Manages the operation of the department(s) to ensure effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient patient care. Participates in the development of the vision for department and works with leadership, providers, nursing and staff to achieve vision. Provides leadership and direction for the staff of the department, supporting and actualizing the organization/department goals. Performs problem-solving activities and functions as a resource to staff and providers for addressing concerns related to patient scheduling, patient flow, accurate processing of patient registration, insurance, financial management, and any other issues raised by providers, employees and patients, affecting the patients’ experience. Facilitates a multidisciplinary approach to problem identification and resolution with nursing and other departments/sections. Identifies and develops new programs or methodologies for delivering services more effectively and efficiently
Fiscal Accountability: Meets short-term and long-term financial goals by continually planning, developing, monitoring, adjusting and identifying opportunities to maximize revenues and reduce costs, while maintaining quality of services. Maintains effective scheduling practices by managing provider scheduling templates and call schedules (if applicable)., with the focus on efficiency and patient access. Reviews and analyses financial reports, payroll, provider productivity, practice-specific data, and other key reports.
Human Resources: Directs the personnel management of the non-clinical employees assigned to the department, consistent with state and federal labor laws and organization/department goals and policies. Promotes diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. Participates in new staff interviews, and ensures administrative staff are trained, oriented, precept, and evaluated. Prepares and conducts employee performance appraisals. Performs payroll logistics and approves transfers, promotions and other decisions affecting employee pay and status. Participates in initiating and documenting disciplinary actions, responding to grievances and handles performance matters up to and including termination.
Communication: Communicates in a clear and effective manner to enhance team effectiveness. Collaborates with others within the department and with others departments to enhance problem-solving, decision-making and performance improvement. Schedules, develops agenda and facilitates monthly leadership, provider and staff meetings in conjuncture with the Nurse Manager. Leads department initiatives to support employee and provider satisfaction.
Minimum Education: Bachelor degree. Master degree preferred
Minimum Experience: 5 years experience in health care administration, preferably in the ambulatory care setting
Specific Skills, Knowledge, and/or Competencies: Excellent interpersonal and communication skill required, Ability to relate to and deal effectively with medical staff, administrators, support staff and the general public with a high degree of tact and discretion. Handles confidential material with maturity, sensitivity and discretion. Adapts to stressful situations quickly and effectively. Functions as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Compensation
- Minimum Pay: $35.33
- Maximum Pay: $53.00
