Job Summary
-
Manages and coordinates administrative functions within an assigned office or division. Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization 2-3 days/week in assigned clinic. Training is provided relevant to the population served, based on scope of care of the service assignment.

Job Responsibilities
-
Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.

Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction and conflict management.

Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, and payroll.

Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts and vendor relations.
-
Determines and justifies needs for systems/equipment/supplies purchases, monitors usage, and oversees proper working order and/or stock supplies.

Supports special projects and business analysis as requested.

Implements and monitors patient care plans.
-
Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

Serves as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing order.

Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with patient/family and members of the healthcare team. Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn. Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. Creates and maintains a work environment that is aligned with the organization's goals and strategies, demonstrating a unified voice and consistent message from leadership; actively supports all organizational policies and procedures in communications and interactions with staff. Communicates and implements change in a positive and effective manner.

Education
-
Associate's degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) required. Eligible to practice nursing in the state of Kentucky required. Certified as a Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider preferred.

Work Experience
-
3 years progressive experience in a related field and/or a leadership role required.

Skills and Attributes

Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Works under minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
