Bone Dry Roofing is looking for a Collections Clerk to join our Finance Department. The Collections Clerk would manage the accounts receivable collection process.
Onsite Work Location: This is an onsite full-time position located in Indianapolis, Indiana
(This is not a remote opportunity)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and mail dunning letters
- Arrange for debt repayment or establish repayment schedules, based on customers’ financial situation
- Advise customers of necessary actions and strategies for debt repayment
- Confer with customers via Captivated, telephone or in person to determine reasons for overdue payments and to review the terms of the sale, or credit contracts
- Trouble-shoot issues of incomplete or unsatisfied jobs to facilitate collections
- Keep records of collection and status of accounts in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
- Preparation, processing, and follow-up on accounts sent to third party collections or legal assistance
- Recommend processing of lien filing after all collection efforts have been exhausted
- Recommend account write-off when further collection cost efforts are projected to exceed the value of the amount on the account past due
- Work closely with internal and external insurance departments to help facilitate that the customer claim moves seamlessly through the insurance continuum to completion, including payment
- Back up to Financial Operations to handle incoming calls for payments, customer questions about invoices and financing options
Qualification & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Pass a background check
- Previous collections experience a must (2-3 years experience as a debt collector preferred)
- Working knowledge of Salesforce preferred
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and customer service communication skills
- Proficient in Google Suite Products (sheets, docs, email, etc) preferred
- Prior experience with accounting software (Acumatica and i360) is helpful
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) helpful
- Ability to work independently
