Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time Nurse Paralegal to join our Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury teams in our Washington, D.C. office. This position is ideal for a licensed nurse with legal experience who is detail-oriented and capable of managing a fast-paced caseload. The Nurse Paralegal plays a critical role in reviewing and interpreting medical records, supporting litigation strategy, and providing case support from intake through trial.
Responsibilities
- Obtain, review, analyze, and summarize medical records and related documents.
- Prepare detailed medical chronologies, summaries, and timelines.
- Research, evaluate, and assist with the retention of medical experts.
- Coordinate expert appointments and logistics, including scheduling, correspondence, and travel arrangements.
- Maintain accurate and updated case calendars and deadlines.
- Support attorneys at trial by preparing medical exhibits, fact-checking, tracking developments, and compiling documentation.
- Perform other case management and litigation support duties as assigned.
Qaulifications
- RN, LPN, or comparable nursing credentials (required).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a paralegal, legal assistant, or similar legal support role.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, particularly regarding medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with legal case management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Additional Information:
Work Environment: This is an in-office position, and candidates must be available to work full-time hours hybrid at our DC office (9am-6pm, 4 days in-office, 1 say remote).
