JOB SUMMARY
Provides senior executive leadership for Memorial Healthcare in facilitating medical staff interactions with Hospital Administration and the governing board and to assure effective and efficient delivery of quality medical care consistent with the mission and vision of Memorial Healthcare.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides primary leadership and oversight to promote and nurture a culture of quality and patient safety.
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable National, State and local laws and regulations, Joint Commission and other requirements affecting the medical and allied health staff.
Serves as a key advisor to the President/CEO and administration regarding communications and issues pertaining to and with medical staff.
Provides leadership in the areas of strategic planning, strategy execution and implementation of care management programs.
Participates in professional organizations and represents the hospital in a professional, competent manner in the community.
Assures the ongoing development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of medical staff services.
Serves as liaison with external parties and institutions, including public, governmental and MHC entities.
Acts as the primary liaison between administration and medical staff.
Oversees and manages the Medical Staff office.
Develops an effective process for staff development and retention.
Attends appropriate Medical Staff Department and Executive meetings.
Leads, in conjunction with the CNO, quality and safety initiatives throughout the organization.
Sets agenda, goals and facilitates the Provider Advisory Committee.
Oversees and manages all on-site inspections, assisting inspectors and surveyors in the performance of their duties, and provides reports as required to follow up.
Monitors effectiveness of management practices and productivity indicators using evidence based data such as; satisfaction surveys, productivity indicators, budget variance, etc.
Develop and maintain relationships with academic institutions for the purpose of business collaboration.
Ensures appointment and reappointment of medical staff and allied health privileges are compliant with sound credentialing practices.
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION (List required, and preferred if applicable)
MD, DO with unrestricted medical license required.
MHA, MBA, preferred
Board certification in medical management required
Ability to become a fully credentialed member of the medical staff.
EXPERIENCE (List required, and preferred if applicable)
Minimum of seven or more years of clinical practice, participation in a leadership role in medical staff organization activities, and through management experience within a health care delivery system. Minimum of five years of management.
Experience in and understanding of private independent practitioners, community hospital owned clinics and inpatient physician operations is strongly preferred.

High aptitude for implementation and experience in best practice use of EMR technology platforms to manage and improve clinical quality and patient outcomes.
