Senior Systems Administrator Position Summary
Provide systems integration support for the configuration, installation, documentation, and maintenance of Windows Servers, as well as hardware and software support for microcomputer-based desktop systems. These systems exist in a complex heterogeneous operating system, network operating system, and protocol environment. Duties include the evaluation, selection, implementation, installation and on-going system administration support and service of the Windows network operating system and layered product upgrades. Systems are to be configured and managed using a basic knowledge of the network and security environment at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. The predominant server and workstation environment is the Windows operating system and network operating system running over the TCP/IP protocol suite.
Additionally, this position requires the individual to have extensive knowledge in Windows server design and administration, conduct on-going statistical analysis of system performance to ensure efficient systems integration, and demonstrate the ability to provide solid problem solving/troubleshooting skills. Will be required to maintain a level of competency in network operations to analyze and diagnose critical problems and take immediate action to independently resolve the problem. Assist in the development of scripts, procedures, and configuration efforts. Assist in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of standards and procedures for use, control, updating, and maintaining Windows server systems. The Administrator will perform daily administrative functions including recovery, configuration, installs and upgrades, maintain/update server documentation, install client-server based applications, DNS, Microsoft Active Directory Suite, Identity Management, Microsoft O365, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft System Center Suite, Microsoft Windows Deployment Services, Microsoft File and Print Services, and F5 Load Balancer. Also responsible for Security Configuration Management, including AV, Malware, Patch Management (WSUS), Web Filtering Appliance, Auditing, and Email Security. Will also manage system resources to prevent workflow impact from down and serviced equipment. Other areas include:
- Virtual Desktop and Published Application Administration – VMware Horizon, Citrix XenApp/PVS
- Mobile Device Management Administration – VMware WorkspaceONE
- Imprivata Administration – OneSign, ConfirmID, and Patient Secure
- Epic Client Systems Administration – Hyperspace Desktop Administrator, WebBLOB, Printing, Business Continuity Access, Hyperspace WEB, Interconnect & System Pulse
- MyChart and MyChart Mobile, Care Everywhere
- Secure Remote Access Administration – PulseSecure, SecureLink
Senior Systems Administrator Position Requirements
Education
- Bachelor of Science degree in computer science preferred.
Experience
- Five or more years with Microsoft Windows Administration in a large customer environment required.
- Three or more years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory/Microsoft Exchange/O365 required.
- At least one year supporting Linux and VMware vSphere/WorkspaceONE/VMware Horizon/Citrix XenApp required.
- Must have in-depth technical knowledge of server-level operations and software principles utilizing Windows network operating systems.
- Must have demonstrable experience working with vendors to ensure that proper server configuration complies with Peninsula Regional Medical Center's network and security environment.
Senior Systems Administrator Schedule
- Normal schedule is predominately day shift.
- Frequently required to work beyond normal end of shift.
- Occasional evening or weekends may be required during special projects or circumstances.
- Available for “on-call” as circumstances dictate.
- This position is critical to the operation of Peninsula Regional Medical Center and its physicians and patients.
- Must be prepared to work whenever and as long as necessary to provide the required systems and services necessary for users to perform their responsibilities.
- Limited travel may also be required.
