Recruiter Overview
The Recruiter is responsible for the daily implementation of recruitment activity and recruitment marketing initiatives. This individual will also be working in coordination with the Lead Recruiter and Senior Director of HR and hiring managers to determine qualifications and key qualities for open positions. Requires traveling locally and out of state. The Recruiter will provide feedback to internal candidates about specific reasons that they were not chosen for a position. He/she will be responsible for maintaining database information on the interviews as well as any assigned projects. The Recruiter will be assigned the duties of training new managers on behavioral interviewing as well as sitting in on their interviews in order to provide feedback. Position requires professional communication, strong organizational skills, a positive attitude and a high enthusiasm for successful development and maintenance of college and other candidate source programs. The Recruiter will work collaboratively with department leadership and the Senior Director of HR to track and maintain recruitment contacts and tracking of recruitment programs.
Schedule and Salary Information
- Monday- Friday 8:30a-5p
- Fully on-site
- Starting Salary: $61,250.00 (+) based on years of direct relevant experience
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- A valid US Driver’s License and a minimum age of twenty-one (21) years old.
- Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills are an asset.
- Two (2) years of experience with recruiting required. Prior experience with an online applicant tracking system required.
- Experience working in the non-profit, human service sector preferred.
Recruiter Responsibilities
- Reviews all Job Requisitions, ensuring that position requisitioned has been vacated. Ensures accuracy of all information on the Job Requisition.
- Actively sources online, in the community and other settings, to initiate contact with possible qualified candidates for specific job openings.
- Thoroughly reviews the educational background, work experience and other qualifications of both internal and external candidates to determine whether or not they meet the minimum requirements of the position for which they are applying.
- Reviews applications and conducts phone screens of qualified applicants to ensure that work history, education, training, licensures and job skills meet the minimum requirements for the position within three days of receipt.
- Conducts a thorough behavioral based and competency based in person interview with all qualified candidates.
- Explains work schedule, job expectations and benefit program to applicants and ensures a clear understanding of all.
- After completing the phone screens and in person interviews, schedules qualified candidates for a follow up interview with the hiring manager.
- Follows up with managers immediately following interviews to determine if job offer will be extended.
- Makes formal job offers to internal and external candidates. Ensures candidate meets minimum requirements of position and ensures offer is consistent with Melmark policies and compensation program and seeks guidance from Senior Director of HR when clarification or approval is needed. Ensures all pre placement requirements are met.
- Communicates verbally with internal candidates not selected for transfer or promotions, paying special attention to maintaining positive employee relations and providing constructive feedback and career coaching advice as appropriate.
- Keeps hiring managers and members of the HR team updated on a daily basis on the status of candidates.
- Communicates frequently with hiring managers to maintain a full and current understanding of position requirements, departmental needs, scheduling requirements, etc.
- Maintains and documents candidate communication and interview data using both the Applicant Tracking System and Excel.
- Assists with other projects or responsibilities within the HR department as needed.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
