Cass Health is seeking a dynamic and experienced Registered Nurse to serve in a dual role as both an Emergency Department RN and House Supervisor RN. This unique position offers the opportunity to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting while also leading and supporting clinical operations across the facility.​​​​​​​ This role is expected to work two ED shifts and one House Supervisor shift per week with rotating weekends and holidays in the ED.

Valid Iowa Nursing license or from a reciprocating state

ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NRP within one year of hire

Certification by accredited body in area of most experience

Essential Job Functions

Within the scope of nursing practice, assess the patient’s physical, psychological, social and environmental status specific to age using the nursing process.

Safely, consistently, and accurately administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician or advanced practice providers.

Maintains knowledge base regarding hospital philosophy and customer service standards.

Provides outstanding customer service to all patients, families, visitors, and team members, as evidenced by application of organizational standards such as AIDET, patient rounding, bedside reporting, prompt response to call lights and patient needs, and other customer service initiatives

Recognize and identify cardiac rhythms, implementing appropriate nursing care according to unit policy and ACLS protocol.

Attends 75% of unit staff meetings to maintain awareness of job-related issues.

Thoroughly and accurately documents patient care interventions/interactions in a timely manner within the electronic health record.

Respects and maintains confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
