About myPlace Health
myPlace Health was founded in 2021 by mission-aligned healthcare leaders and organizations that are committed to drastically improving health outcomes, quality and experience for vulnerable older adults and frail seniors. We specialize in providing value-based, comprehensive care and coverage for older adults with significant needs so they can thrive in the homes they love and in the communities they cherish.
Our mission is simple: to enable older adults to live the independent lives they deserve. We pursue this mission through our myPlace PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) model, which provides seamless primary care, integrated health plan coverage, personalized social engagement, and customized services delivered in the participant’s preferred place.
myPlace Health is building a mission-driven team that shares our passion for redefining the way older adults experience care as they “age in place” in the community. This is a unique opportunity to take on one of our country’s most challenging healthcare problems and join a fast-growing, dynamic team as we prepare to scale our mission to serve more markets.
About This Role
Are you someone who gets excited about the fine print, thrives on uncovering trends in data, and sees audits as an opportunity to make healthcare safer and stronger? Then this might just be your perfect next step.
As our Compliance Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping us deliver on our mission at myPlace Health—to provide high-quality, compassionate care for frail older adults through the PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) model. You’ll be the go-to expert for ensuring we’re not only meeting regulatory standards, but exceeding them.
In this role, you’ll build and implement smart, scalable compliance tools that keep us in step with federal and state regulations—particularly around CMS Universe and HPMS data, electronic health records (EHRs), and internal policies. You’ll dig into audits, spot trends, and collaborate across teams to address risks before they become issues. You'll also help shape a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement through training, guidance, and policy development.
You’ll be part of a growing, high-impact team that takes pride in doing work that truly matters—and you’ll do it all while supporting a culture of high reliability, teamwork, and participant-centered care.
If you love connecting the dots between data, policy, and real-world care—and want your work to have a meaningful impact every day—we’d love to meet you.
What Does Success Look Like As Our Compliance Specialist?
- Build the audit engine. Maintain and update essential audit tools to keep us ready for any state or federal spotlight.
- Be our EHR detective. Oversee internal audits of participant records to make sure everything is documented completely and on time.
- Own those acronyms. Manage audits and reporting for CMS and HPMS—making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
- Keep tabs on the tough stuff. Audit grievance, appeal, and service determination requests (SDRs) for timeliness and thoroughness.
- Be the go-to guru. Support your teammates by ensuring our compliance policies and procedures are applied correctly and confidently.
- Spot the signal. Report any compliance anomalies, trends, or opportunities for improvement to the Director of Quality and Compliance Programs.
- Turn insight into action. Draft plans to improve compliance practices and help us stay one step ahead of risk.
- Make it make sense. Prepare clear, impactful compliance presentations and reports that get leadership nodding with confidence.
- Dig deep when needed. Participate in root cause analyses and review corrective action plans (CAPs) for quality and effectiveness.
- Wordsmith our guardrails. Help write and review policies, procedures, and SOPs to keep everything buttoned up and audit-ready.
- Be the policy pro. Serve as the subject matter expert on CMS audits, HPMS reporting, and all the compliance procedures that keep us humming.
- Know your universe. Validate data for CMS/state audits, I-SAT, and HOS-M reporting—because details matter.
- Lead the charge for audit readiness. Support your team as we prepare for and conquer state and federal audits together.
- Teach compliance with confidence. Facilitate training sessions that keep our culture of compliance strong and alive.
- Guard what matters. Uphold the privacy and confidentiality of participant, team member, and company information at all times.
- Stay in the loop. Attend required staff trainings and meetings—because we’re better when we grow together.
- Keep the convo going. Communicate regularly with your supervisor and team so we’re always aligned on goals and priorities.
- Check the boxes. Complete all mandatory trainings, health screenings, and compliance requirements on time, every time.
- Be ready to pivot. Flex your schedule when needed—including the occasional evening or weekend—because compliance never sleeps.
- And of course... Tackle other duties as assigned with curiosity, integrity, and a smile.
What Does An Ideal Candidate Look Like?
- Audit like a boss. You’ve got hands-on experience conducting audits—bonus points if it was in a healthcare setting.
- Speak fluent compliance. You’re familiar with the ins and outs of healthcare regulations, especially HIPAA and PACE-specific program compliance.
- Run on drive. You’re self-motivated, proactive, and don’t wait around for direction—you get it done and keep things moving.
- Thrive in organized chaos. You know how to juggle multiple priorities, stay focused, and keep your cool in fast-paced, ever-changing environments.
- Built for the build. You've rolled up your sleeves in early-stage companies or startup-style environments and helped bring order to the (fun) madness.
- PACE makes your heart race. Experience with the PACE model? That’s a major win in our book.
