About the role:
The Foreman assists the Superintendent by providing leadership and being responsible for, although not limited to: scheduling, planning, coordinating, supervising, assisting in cost control and ensuring the safety, consistent and fair application of all OBR policies and procedures, proper training and productivity of crews at the worksite who erect and repairs cooling towers. The Foreman must work with the Superintendent to assure the job is completed safely, efficiently, on time, and to OBR quality standards. Specifically, the Foreman is responsible to lead groups of cooling tower technicians to make sure tasks assigned by Superintendent are executed properly. This position may require extensive travel depending on project location. Occasionally, a Foreman may be required to manage an inspection or small project without supervision.

Roles/Tasks of the Position:
- Always work safely and follow safe work procedures. Look out for co-workers and others at the job-site. Must stop work if unsafe condition is present.
- Manage job in the absence of the Superintendent
- Oversee field subcontractors
- Reads blue prints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required, dimensions of the structure or fixture
- Select lumber and other materials to be used on the assigned job
- Prepares layout, using rulers, tape measures, framing square and calipers.
- Oversees marking, cutting and assembly lines on materials using pencil, chalk, and marking gage.
- Oversees the shaping of materials to prescribed measurements using saws, chisels, and chainsaws.
- Oversees the assembling of cut and shaped materials
- Alignment of mechanical equipment and performs piping
- Assists with the erection of framework
- Fits and installs material as needed
- Work at heights as needed while observing 100% tie-off
- Conducts daily and weekly Safety meetings
- Completes incident reports as necessary
- Additional tasks as assigned by Superintendent or Field and Area Managers
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- 5 years in field cooling tower construction.
- 1 year (minimum) as a foreman in cooling tower construction (or promoted through OBR Cooling Towers, Inc. training process).
- OSHA 10 Certification
- Certification in CPR and First Aid
- TWIC card
- Rigging, forklift, and man-lift certification
Other Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Windows-based applications
- Ability to select and use proper tools
- Knowledge and application of safety standards through OSHA training and experience.
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Physical Demands:

- Lifting of up to 50 pounds, bending, climbing (stairs and structures) and stooping
- Keyboarding/typing
- Ability to read effectively from a computer screen and/or paper copy
- Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally
- Outside or in a plant environment; may be exposed to bad weather and/or excessive heat and noise.
- Hazardous chemicals are typically produced or stored in a location close to the Work area.
Prerequisites/Requirements:
- Negative 10 panel urinalysis and breath alcohol test.
- Valid Driver"s License and Proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Maintain active status in DISA
- Proof of U.S. citizenship
- Score of a 2 or less in a DISA background screen.
