Job Summary
We are seeking a Level II Shear Wave Ultrasound Technician (UT) to join our team. This role is responsible for performing nondestructive testing (NDT) inspections with minimal supervision, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in diverse field environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct NDT inspections using Level II Shear Wave Ultrasound (UT-SW) and potentially other certified methods (UT, MT, PT, RT, VT).
- Interpret and evaluate test results in accordance with ASME, ASTM, API, AWS, and other industry standards.
- Prepare accurate reports detailing inspection results and findings.
- Assist in training and mentoring NDT Technician 1 personnel.
- Perform equipment calibrations to maintain accuracy and compliance.
- Work directly with engineers, project managers, and clients to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of testing and inspections.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and site-specific requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Level II certification in Shear Wave Ultrasound (UT).
- 2+ years of experience performing NDT inspections.
- Strong knowledge of NDT techniques, codes, and industry standards (ASME, ASTM, API, AWS).
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work in field and industrial environments, including confined spaces and elevated heights.
- Must pass an FBI fingerprint-based background check.
Preferred Skills:
- Additional Level II certifications in other NDT methods (MT, PT, RT, VT).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Effective written and verbal communication for reporting and client interactions.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Combination of field and office work, with frequent travel to project sites.
- Work in environments such as construction sites, industrial facilities, confined spaces, and at heights up to 200 feet.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs, stand for extended periods, and move frequently throughout the workday.

Pay Transparency
Base compensation is expected to be in the range of $25.00 - $33.00 per hour based on skill set and experience. This job primarily operates in a field environment in outdoor conditions on construction sites with uneven ground and adverse weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands or finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-100 pounds. The employee will occasionally push or pull equipment weighing up to 200 pounds. The employee is required to frequently work outside. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
