Summary
Under the supervision of departmental management, the nurse coordinator utilizes the nursing process and organizational and leadership skills to ensure that all patients receive care appropriate to their age and developmental level in the most efficient and courteous manner possible. The nurse coordinator maintains the integrity of the unit to meet all accreditation and licensure requirements; assesses staffing needs for the unit; and collaborates with and makes recommendations to the manager to ensure that patients’ needs are met
Minimum Qualifications
Must possess a current license to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Appropriate clinical experience with a thorough knowledge of the scientific principles of nursing and professional nursing standards, developed skill in delivering nursing care, and the ability to adapt to individual needs.
A fundamental understanding of personal computers and familiarity with the Windows operating system.
The ability to successfully complete a competency-based orientation and annual competency testing of skills and/or knowledge necessary to provide care to specific patient populations.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Minimum of two years nursing experience.
Completes the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Fetal Monitoring Course within six months of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
Three years of clinical experience in a related field.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP).
Previous experience serving in a nursing role with advanced responsibility (eg: Charge Nurse, Nurse Clinician, Nurse Coordinator).
Certification in Inpatient Obstetrical Nursing (RNC, INPT) within six months of hire date.
Completion of an AWOHNN Fetal Monitoring Instructor course.
