Lead Rehab Therapist

Reports to the Therapy Manager and performs clinical duties in accordance with their professional licensure (PT, OT, or SLP). Acts as a clinical resource for staff, rehabilitation teams (therapy and nursing), and leadership. Balances responsibilities between direct patient care and administrative functions. This role supports quality care delivery and serves as a role model for best clinical practices.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical and Administrative Duties

Provide high-quality patient care aligned with licensure.

Serve as an initial point of contact for physician needs and concerns.

Support departmental education and assist clinical educators.

Represent the department on interdisciplinary teams and in meetings.

Assist with new product implementation and clinical workflows.
Quality of Care

Address patient and family concerns promptly and appropriately.

Serve as a liaison among patients, families, and health team members.

Interpret and implement hospital, unit, and departmental policies.

Participate in and contribute to peer review processes.

Participate in interviews and the onboarding of new candidates.
Resource Management

Monitor and adjust staffing based on patient needs and census changes.

Assign staff appropriately for acute and inpatient rehab services.

Designate weekend shift leaders when not present on-site.

Maintain clinical competencies and provide direct patient care as needed.

Resolve short-term staffing challenges and recommend long-term solutions.

Support leadership in performance reviews and staff development.

Mentor, coach, and assist with training for new and temporary staff.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
-
Graduate of an accredited therapy program (PT, OT, or SLP).

Current Indiana license in good standing.
-
Minimum of one year of recent clinical experience.
Knowledge & Skills
-
Proficient with therapeutic evaluations, modalities, ambulation aids, and equipment.

Strong interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
