Equipment Technician

Responsible for ordering, care, maintenance and stocking of all Respiratory Care supplies and equipment.
II. Position Relationships:
A. Responsible to: Department Director and Supervisors
B. Workers Supervised: None
C. Interrelationships: Works closely with patients, families and health
care team. Frequent interaction with Respiratory staff and other hospital departments.
III. Responsibilities and Authorities:
A. Performs other duties as assigned by the department's management staff.
B. As patient care and/or Hospital need dictates, both the assigned shift and work station may be changed by the department.
C. Participates in and promotes the "I CARE Advantage" service philosophy of Integrity, Customer Centered, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.
D. Performs essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
E. Order and stock all needed Respiratory Care supplies in the Department.
F. Maintaining a neat and organized working environment.
G. Clean, disinfect, assemble and calibrate all Respiratory Care equipment including ventilators.
H. Perform and record all preventative maintenance on Respiratory Care equipment.
I. Maintains physical inventory of supplies in Respiratory Care including annual inventory process.

F. Practices effective interpersonal skills and utilizes established channels of communication.
V. Qualifications:
A. Education:
High School graduate or equivalent.
B. Training and Experience:
Good communication skills both written and oral. Good organizational skills.
VI. Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
A. Heavy lifting is required.
B. Considerable walking and standing.
C. Exposure to hazardous materials and contaminated equipment.
