Position: Cardiology Technologist

Salary Range: $40.00 - $50.00 CAD per hour
Position Summary:
Job duties may include providing patients with exercise regimens prescribed by doctors. You might also be responsible for obtaining a patient's medical history, recording blood pressure, and explaining a procedure. You must be prepared to respond to cardiac emergencies as well.

This allows us to offer clients the most detailed imaging currently available, leading to faster scanning with more accurate results.
What you will be doing:
- Perform the following tests and screens as per False Creek Wellness protocol, adhering to the testing contraindications and reasons for test termination criteria set out by the Company:
- Resting and Exercise EKG or ECG: Bruce Protocol, as well as custom protocols when required
- Adhere to Company safety and operational policies relating to Emergency Management, Patient Safety, Infection Control and others as applicable
- Interpret EKG or ECG
- Process and transmit tests electronically as per Company procedures
- Dispose of any venipuncture or sample collection supplies appropriately (sharps etc)
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked appropriately, spaces and instruments and equipment sanitized and ready for each client
- Initiate and assist in any Emergency Management situations as needed, deferring to physician when present
- Perform Electrocardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, holter and/or event monitor testing and Ambulatory Blood Pressure (ABP) testing
- Explain procedures and answer patient questions in preparation for testing
- Adhere to Company safety and operational policies relating to Emergency Management, Patient Safety, Infection Control, and others as applicable
- Interpret ECG
- Process and transmit tests electronically as per Company procedures
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked appropriately, spaces and instruments and equipment sanitized and ready for each client
- Initiate and assist in any Emergency Management situations as needed, deferring to physician when present
You Have:
- Graduated from a Diploma program in Cardiology Technology
- Successful completion of the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologist (CSCT) certification exam.
- Eligible for membership with the Cardiology Technologist Association of British Columbia (CTABC).
- Works well in a team environment, as well as independently
- Above-average client experience etiquette and professionalism
- Ability to talk to patients in an empathetic and caring manner
- Outstanding organizational and customer service skills
- Excellent English communication skills: grammar as well as spoken English
- A team player capable of interacting professionally with staff and physicians
- Skilled using Microsoft Office and open to learning new technology and platforms
- Always protecting patient confidentiality
- Certified Cardiology Technologist
- Diploma in Cardiology Technology and Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologist (CSCT) certification
The salary offered for this position falls within a specified salary range and will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and the specific needs of the organization.
