Your Role in Our Journey
Wine Enthusiast is a leading source of information, inspiration, and innovation for wine lovers and lifestyle enthusiasts. We bring together editorial content, curated wine accessories, expert reviews, and elegant product design to create a complete experience for consumers and industry professionals alike.
We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Photo Art Director to join our creative team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail, a passion for visual storytelling, and hands-on experience in photography, styling and post-production. You'll play a key role in shaping the visual identity of our brand across multiple platforms, from print and digital to advertising and ecommerce.
What You"ll Be Uncorking
Key Responsibilities:
Product Photoshoot Support: Assist art director in our photo studio on monthly larger-scale photoshoots, providing creative direction and support to ensure all deliverables align with the brief and meet production standards. Also assists in smaller-scale product shoots in our in-office studio as needed, ensuring proper lighting, clean composition and accurate color. Post-Production: Edit, retouch, color-correct, and optimize still images and GIFs from photoshoots for use across digital platforms (ecommerce, email, social media) and print (catalogs, ads).Quality Control: Ensure all visual content meets Wine Enthusiast's brand guidelines, maintaining high standards for consistency, clarity and professionalism.Asset Management: Organize and manage digital asset libraries, including consistent naming conventions, categorization, and proper file sizing and formatting.Creative Concepting: Assist the art director in developing moodboards, visual references, and creative concepts for photoshoots and promotional campaigns based on art direction, seasonal themes and product stories.Styling & Pre-Production: Create detailed styling briefs to guide photographers, stylists and set designers. Consolidate with the studio the sourcing of props and sets. Collaborate in production planning to ensure a smooth workflow and cohesive output.Product Photography: Photograph small-scale products (e.g., wine accessories, glassware, and tools) in our in-office studio, ensuring proper lighting, clean composition, accurate color and consistent branding.Team Collaboration: Assist the art director to ensure visual assets support broader brand and business goals.
The Perfect Blend (What You Bring to the Table)
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a photo editor, retoucher, or similar creative role with a strong visual portfolio.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.Must be within commutable distance (less than 2 hours) to our current studios in Bergen County, New Jersey and Westchester County, NY. (Studios are subject to change locations within the NYC-metro area.) Strong conceptual thinking and the ability to translate ideas into compelling visuals.Exceptional attention to detail in editing, file organization, and visual consistency.Comfortable juggling multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Experience in food & beverage, lifestyle, or luxury consumer goods photography is a plus. Bonus: Experience with camera operation, studio lighting and tabletop product photography.
Thishybrid role has an onsite requirement of 1 - 2 times a month at our Valhalla, NY headquarters.

The pay range for this role is:70,000 - 75,000 USD per year(Hybrid (Valhalla, New York, US))
