Job Summary
The Program Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional teams through the product development lifecycle for new product introductions (NPI) and R&D initiatives. This role ensures that all customer requirements, internal milestones, and manufacturing readiness criteria are met from concept through launch.
Essential Job Duties
- Lead program execution using a structured Stage-Gate and APQP process.
- Manage program timelines, deliverables, and resource allocations.
- Serve as the primary liaison between engineering, manufacturing, quality, sales, and supply chain teams.
- Develop and maintain program documentation including timelines, risk assessments, and action plans.
- Drive resolution of open issues and remove roadblocks to maintain schedule adherence.
- Monitor and report program status to senior leadership.
- Ensure successful handoff to manufacturing operations at launch.
- All other tasks and duties as assigned by manager.
Metrics for Success
- On-time completion of program milestones and launch readiness.
- Adherence to budget and resource allocations.
- Customer satisfaction scores post-launch.
- Achievement of internal quality and performance metrics.
- Reduction in open issues or escalations during development cycle.
Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in program or project management in a manufacturing or product development environment.
• Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and Stage-Gate methodologies.
Skills:
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent).
• Ability to manage cross-functional teams and multiple priorities.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
Work is typically performed in an office environment with regular visits to manufacturing plants and customer sites. Candidate must be able to travel up to 25% of the time and work flexible hours to support global teams or critical launch timelines.
