About the role
- To ensure a safe working environment by implementing and maintaining safety programs, performing inspections, and training staff on safety protocols. Addresses safety hazards, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
What you"ll do
- Developing and implementing comprehensive safety programs, including accident prevention, fire prevention, and security measures.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations, such as OSHA.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of safety programs and making necessary adjustments.
- Regularly inspecting the facility for potential hazards, including faulty wiring, slippery floors, and unsafe equipment.
- Conducting accident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Evaluating safety risks associated with new projects and initiatives.
- Providing clear and concise communication about safety policies, procedures, and potential hazards.
- Keeping staff informed about changes in safety regulations and best practices.
- Collecting and analyzing data on accidents and incidents to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Developing and implementing procedures for reporting and investigating incidents, including near misses.
- Ensuring that all necessary reports are submitted to regulatory agencies.
- Reviewing and inspecting fire and safety equipment annually.
- Ensuring that appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided to employees.
- Managing the storage and handling of hazardous materials.
- Working with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that safety is integrated into all aspects of the facility"s operations.
- Collaborating with contractors and vendors to ensure that their work is performed safely.
- Communicating effectively with all levels of management and staff.
- Maintaining records of safety inspections, training, and incident reports.
- Developing and updating safety policies and procedures.
- Ensuring that all safety-related documentation is updated.
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in business intelligence tools, data analysis, and process modeling.
- Ability to lead and mentor team members.
- A deep understanding of business principles and operations.
- 5-10 years' experience in safety with a focus on strategic and complex projects.
- Certified Safety Manager or Professional (preferred).Describe the experience and attributes of the ideal candidate
The pay range for this role is:80,000 - 90,000 USD per year(Haltom City, TX)
