Job Summary:
The Prep-Procedure Technician performs under the direct supervision of the Patient Care Coordinator, and RNs of the Same Day Surgery department. The Prep- Procedure technician is crossed trained to perform clerical functions:
His/ her primary duties include but are not limited to:
- Collection and documentation of vital signs, height, and weight on admission, accucheck where indicated
- She/he is responsible for alerting the RN caring for the patient of any abnormals she becomes aware of during her time with the patient.
- Assists patients to the restroom as needed.
- She/he demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed.
- The technician will have excellent communication promoting the “We Care” philosophy is essential.

Qualifications:
Education/Skills:
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Completion of an approved Nurse Aide training course preferred.
Work Experience:
- Prior experience working as an aide preferred.
- Previous training on medical-surgical units with demonstrated proficiency preferred.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE
- Certified Nurse Aid Certificate
Additional Certification/Licensure - Obtained based on the required timeframe below
- Basic Life Support (Within 30 Days of Employment Required)
