JOB SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a member of the Nursing Dept. The RN has responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care. The RN manages care for patients and their families through the application of the nursing process utilizing independent judgment, collaboration and communication with all team members including ancillary and support services. The RN develops a plan on nursing care and utilizes established clinical pathways which are implemented by the care delivery team with the supervision of the RN. The RN provides and delegates patient care activities based upon patient needs and team skills/abilities and supervises the delivery of care by team. The RN evaluates patient response to treatment and nursing interventions, as needed, revised the plan of care. The RN monitors patient progress and prepares patient for discharge.
REQUIREMENTS
- Required Associate's Degree
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree
- 2-4 years One year acute care, emergency, or trauma experience required. Required
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- CPR - AHA Healthcare Provider
- RN FNE A - RN Forensic Adult
- RN FNE P - RN Forensic Pediatric
- RN FNE A-P - RN Forensic Adult & Pediatric
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Strong Communication skills. Ability to build and develop Teams. Strong Organizational and Prioritizations skills. Typically RN FNE-A, RN FNE-P, RN FNE A-P required within 1 year or required as soon as required SAFE exams are completed. Due to Carroll Hospital Center's volume of patients, it may take over 1 year to complete required exams and obtain SAFE certification through the Maryland BON. Carroll Hospital Center is a minimal-lift facility which means that any moving or lifting of patients must be done with appropriate equipment and/or techniques taught through the Safe Lift program. Appropriate equipment or techniques must be used.
