Key Responsibilities:
- Leads a team to deliver implementation of changes and additions to their application(s)
- Continuous interaction with leadership to ensure their needs and requirements are met
- Track statuses, resolve roadblocks (resource constraints, requirement ambiguity, etc.), and communicate ongoing progress to stakeholders.
- Coach and mentor less experienced team members, promote effective teamwork and support people management related initiatives.
- Working knowledge of Meaningful Use requirements
- Research and adopt industry & vendor(s) best practices
- Demonstrate capability managing simultaneous projects, crisis situations, and successfully meeting deadlines.
- Proven communication skills working with management
- Ability to provide direction, communicate and provide strong leadership to vendors who provide products and services.
- Demonstrated capability in user-centered design skills, visualizations of complex experiences such as workflows, scenarios, interoperability between systems, etc.
- Experience solving complex user problems and in working in a broad portfolio of related products and/or an application which constitutes a complex solution.
- Successful track record leading interdisciplinary teams informed by stakeholder and user inputs
- Demonstration of committed and respectful collaboration between members of cross-functional teams
- Lead Change Management activities as directed
- May assume coordinator role on some projects
- Document and communicate problems to vendor and HIS leadership.
- Provide meaningful input into development of departmental Operating and Capital budgets.
- Self-directed, organized, excellent communication skills, ability to manage multiple implementations at any given time, good follow up skills
- Participate in internal and / or external training programs, staying current on industry trends and compliant on skills applicable to assigned duties.
- Regularly monitor Meditech and Cerner websites and other resources when seeking solutions and new opportunities for end users.
- Represent Lake Regional in peer groups and regional meetings
- Share information learned at education sessions with HIS staff and end users
- Continually strive to improve proficiency and knowledge
- Provide on-call support; and back up support for other team members addressing and communication problems and resolutions to HIS staff and end users
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education
College degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Information Management, or BSN degree with three (3) years’ experience; or a minimum five (5) years’ experience in an information technology role supporting physician practice, hospital clinical systems in lieu of degree.
Experience
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in supporting various acute or ambulatory applications including but not limited to Clinical Documentation, Order/Order Set, Medication Administration, Ancillary application configuration, etc.
- This position requires a technically oriented individual with acute clinical or ambulatory related process experience and excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills as well as experience working across diverse teams to facilitate solutions.
- Requires an aptitude to learn and work primarily with IT systems and have an interest in focusing their career in this direction.
- Working knowledge and experience with the following is preferred: Meditech Expanse, 6.x, or 5.6 clinical or ancillary applications.
- Annual influenza vaccine required.
