SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
Reporting directly to the Director of Inventory Accounting within the Finance Team, the Cost Analyst's main focus will be analyzing and synthesizing costing data to help drive decision-making. This role will be responsible for setting up and maintaining accurate processes related to cost accounting, reconciling standards to actual costs, participating in month end close, and assisting in day-to-day operations and associated reporting requirements. This position is designed to closely partner with the Factory teams and is expected to work in-person at our HQ complex in Hollywood, CA (this is not a remote work position).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Establish and process standard cost transactions for material, labor, and overhead; evaluate and resolve variances to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Manage the Duty Drawback process beginning with data collection, to drawback submissions, and finally to reporting drawback reclaims to date.
- Produce monthly key performance indicator (KPI) reports to measure performance over time, identify opportunities, and make sensible, actionable recommendations.
- Create and present monthly reporting on manufacturing cost variances, cost of goods sold, bill of materials, turns by location and product category, and detailed margin analysis.
- Evaluate and create product cost updates for new items.
- Participate in annual audit preparations, investigate and resolve findings, discrepancies, and issues of noncompliance.
- Support leadership with ad hoc financial projects and strategic initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS/BA in Accounting or Finance. CPA or CMA a plus.
- Cost accounting in consumer products manufacturing environment preferred.
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including significant relevant experience with inventory management.
- Develop, analyze and report on product category cost and profitability metrics that help drive Chrome Hearts to increased product margin levels.
- Experience developing KPIs, analyzing margins and costs, and implementing cost management procedures.
- Must have proactive project management skills.
- 5+ years of cost accounting experience.
- Thorough knowledge of cost accounting principles, systems, and procedures.
- Excellent MS Office and Excel skills.
- Strong ERP experience. MS Dynamics 365 experience a plus.
- Experienced, analytical thinker who can effectively oversee and implement innovative solutions for cost management, inventory management, and production flows.
- Effective at understanding consolidated cost data and communicating findings with stakeholders.
- Able to build collaborative partnerships with Operations Teams to implement best practices and proactively find solutions to support the continued expansion of Chrome Hearts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication with all levels of the organization.
- Must have a positive attitude, confident demeanor, and be willing to tackle challenging tasks under competing deadlines.
