Who We Are:
StructureCraft is a unique, vertically integrated design-build company of 200+ structural engineering and construction professionals that specializes in timber structures, incorporating steel, glass, concrete and other materials.
Since our beginning in 1998, our team has pushed the boundaries in complex geometry, optimization, digital fabrication, material testing and research. We are involved in mass timber structures, long span roofs, tall wood buildings, free-form timber structures and bridges. Our work has been recognized nationally and internationally, including numerous engineering awards for innovation in timber construction.
We are rooted in our mission of “making beautiful structures possible,” which harnesses both traditional principles and paradigm-shifting innovation to bring the inherent properties of materials to their highest use. As a firm of master engineers and timber construction experts with offices in Canada, US, and Italy, we partner with world-renowned developers, owners and architects to create structures that are elegant in their own right, and also serve the greater good of a community.
Our head office and shop is located in the beautiful Fraser Valley, just an hour east of our Vancouver office, and close to the growing Abbotsford airport. Our US office is located in Seattle, WA and European office in Trento, Italy.
About the Role
StructureCraft is seeking an Intermediate 3D Design Modeller to join our Digital modelling team to work on some of the largest mass timber projects across North America. As we both fabricate and erect our designs, 3D Design Modellers play a key role in our organization, acting as the hub of design information from the architect and our engineering team, and translating that information into 3D models, layout and shop drawings, and CNC files used for fabrication on our shop floor and erection on site.
Entirely unique to this opportunity, you will have the opportunity to use and influence the development of Branch (www.branch3d.com), a next-generation software aimed at redefining design tools from conceptual structural design through to fabrication detailing and machine files. Our entire 3D Digital Design group operates on Branch, and it has been the 3D modelling and detailing engine behind generating the shop drawings and CNC files for over 1M square feet of built mass timber projects. By joining us, you'll have direct influence on the evolution of this next-generation software bringing your creative ideas to bear by influencing further development of smart functionality into Branch. In-house training in Branch will be provided.
