The Billing Coordinator at Giving Home Medical Equipment will be responsible for overseeing billing operations related to durable medical equipment (DME) and home medical equipment (HME) provided under the Department of Labor’s (DOL) EEOICPA program.
This role will ensure that all billing processes comply with federal policies and program guidelines, and it will be responsible for facilitating authorizations, submitting claims, posting payments, and monitoring Accounts Receivable.
Responsibilities
- Conduct review of sales orders to ensure information is accurate and complete
- Facilitate review and submission of prior authorizations for equipment as needed
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of billing based on sales orders
- Review and work on billing denials for assigned caseload
- Monitor claims and reimbursement statuses, addressing any discrepancies, delays, or rejections with corrective actions
- Cross reference sales order documentation and provider orders for accuracy
- Assist in audits and reviews of billing operations, ensuring proper records and compliance are maintained
- Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork with other HME departments
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination between team members to ensure seamless and excellent continuity of services
- Monitor Brightree item catalog and ensuring accuracy with DOL price tables
- Collaborate with HME Departments and participate in meetings for new item selection, coding, and pricing
- Ad-hoc projects, as necessary
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of revenue cycle data analysis and interpretation
- 3+ years of experience in medical billing, with DME experience required
- Strong preference for experience working under EEOICPA guidelines
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, preferably including strong excel skills over large amounts of data
- Demonstrates high performance standards, passion for excellence and continued improvement
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of an organization
- Preference for experience processing prior authorizations
- Strong team player with a proactive personality to find and evaluate challenging issues
- Self motivation and desire to continually improve efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of processes
- Strong attention to detail
