World Relief Quad Cities seeks a Education Volunteer Coordinator to equip volunteers to serve people in vulnerable situations. The Education Volunteer Coordinator recruits, trains, and manages volunteers and interns of World Relief Quad Cities for programs, services, and campaigns related to the Education Department.
This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until July 1, 2026 and contingent upon funding extension.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruit volunteers for one-time needs and longer assignments (including but not limited to Education volunteers, ESL teachers, childcare volunteers, youth mentors, and summer camp volunteers).
- Recruit and supervise academic year and summer internship programs in Education as well as manage interns’ tasks
- Oversee volunteer and intern onboarding process, provide role-specific training, provide ongoing training as needed
- In collaboration with Education Department and internal stakeholders, determine volunteer assignment needs for team and individual volunteers and interns
- Maintain routine correspondence with volunteers and other internal/external customers
- Provide ongoing technical support and follow up with volunteer teams, individuals, interns
- Manage/maintain online and/or paper volunteer logs and report on volunteer activities for federal or private grants and internal use
- Collaborate with Quad Cities Leadership Team and Community Engagement Team on special projects as needed for event planning, campaigns, development, and community relationships related to Education
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Mature and personal Christian faith
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
- At least 1 year of experience working in a cross-cultural context High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in social service-related field, communications, non-profit management or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous experience working with vulnerable populations, especially immigrants
- Previous experience organizing groups of volunteers
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Outstanding organization, communication, public relations, public speaking and interpersonal skills
- Warm, enthusiastic personality able to inspire others to action
- Excellent computer skills, including fluency with Microsoft Office and Outlook, as well as ability to manage data
- Self-motivated and able to plan and achieve goals with minimal supervision
- Must have ability to multi-task, be detail oriented and organized
- Willingness to work flexible schedule to include working evenings and/or weekends
