General Summary

Performs all duties of a Radiology Technologist.

Serves as a liaison for student clinical affiliations for Radiography program schools.

Maintains excellent relationships and adheres to contractual agreements with affiliating academic institutions.

Ensures provision of a robust learning environment to promote the development of new Radiology Technologists.

Demonstrates commitment to mission, vision and values of Sinai Health System as well as to the profession of Radiography.

This position reports to the Resource Coordinator and supervises Radiography students.
AS RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST:
-
Competently operates radiological equipment to produce quality radiographs across many settings and participate in all areas of general imaging not limited to surgery, outpatient, Emergency Room, Inpatientarea, portables and Schwab. Also assists physician during fluoroscopy exams.

Consistently and correctly places patient’s identification on images using at least two patient identifiers in accordance with National Patient Safety Standards; properly processes imaging and labels them with correct study descriptions and positional/lead markers.

Displays superior customer service skills by explaining procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and comforts those with pain and obtains patient cooperation. Participates in the distribution and collection of customer service surveys to reflect these skills.
AS CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR:

Provides competency-based education constructed by the clinical objectives and evaluation system ofacademic institutions supported by SHS mission and style of system of delivery.

Engages students in the clinical environment by evaluating skill levels with hands-on instruction and \direct/indirect supervision. Enables the achievement of required competencies defined by the radiography program and establishes student performance evaluations

Evaluates student strengths and weaknesses, identifies areas of improvement, implements educational plans with clinical students, and provides feedback to students and academic institutions on a regular basis.

Manages the learning environment through keeping accurate records, taking attendance, submitting grades for competencies and other reports on time, and enforces clinical/program attendance policies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience:

Associate's Degree in Applied Science in Radiology Technology required.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Minimum of two consecutive years of full-time professional practice as a Radiology Technologist.
