Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Hospital Emergency Preparedness & Safety: Training, Education, and Drill Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering training programs and drills to enhance emergency preparedness and safety across our health system. You will serve as a subject-matter expert on various safety topics, create customized teaching materials, and deliver engaging presentations to diverse audiences within the hospital.
Responsibilities:
· Identify potential risk areas related to emergency preparedness and develop strategies to improve risk mitigation measures.
· Develop and maintain a comprehensive yearly training curriculum and calendar, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements across the health system.
· Assist units in meeting training and drill requirements specific to emergency preparedness, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
· Collaborate with hospital and department leadership to ensure training and drill requirements are met, and to address any identified gaps or needs.
· Implement high-availability online learning modules to facilitate education on emergency preparedness, emergency management, and communication.
· Conduct live training classes for all entities and shifts across the Sinai Health System, ensuring comprehensive coverage and participation.
· Provide training and guidance on the implementation of the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) to enable effective emergency response and coordination.
· Deliver just-in-time training during real-world emergencies and disasters, assisting staff in responding effectively and efficiently.
· Collaborate closely with the Safety, Security, and Emergency Preparedness departments to establish a robust and cohesive training and drill program across the Sinai Health System.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred (Emergency Management, Public Health, Safety, or a related discipline).
· Demonstrated expertise and knowledge in emergency preparedness and safety practices.
· Strong instructional design skills with experience in developing training materials and resources.
· Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and educate diverse audiences.
· Proficiency in utilizing online learning platforms and technologies to deliver training programs.
· Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards related to emergency preparedness in healthcare settings.
· Strong organizational and coordination abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
· Previous experience in healthcare emergency preparedness, safety training, or a related field is highly desirable.
· Certification in emergency management or related disciplines (e.g., Certified Emergency Manager) is a plus.
